Radioshop Stratocaster ‘Tele-fit’ Baseplate
£17.00
Add bass response and oomph to that thin sounding Strat pickup. Unique ‘Tele-fit’ Strat design for added mass and effect.
Description
Strat pickup sounding a little thin? Adding a Baseplate to the bridge pickup is a common Strat modification and the result is to intensify the magnetic field adding increased bass response and some extra output and oomph to proceedings. Our Stratocaster ‘Tele-fit’ baseplate goes that tiny bit further than our Standard Strat baseplate and follows the footprint of the Strat bobbin in the way that a Telecaster baseplate does for a shade extra mass and a further boost to the magnetic field. This is the baseplate found on our ID:Chris Buck set’s bridge pickup which is our most popular Strat pickups set. Add one to your bridge pickup and it’ll beef things up nicely – or … why not go mad and add one to all three pickups? It’s an interesting experiment and for those keen enough to try it, we’ve made the price go down a little with each baseplate you buy.
Our baseplates are made from 1.2mm thick mild steel and come with a solder tab which reaches to your pickup’s ground wire eyelet (usually the one the black wire is connected to) whether it’s on the left or the right. We have also added a length of extremely thin pickup maker’s paper tape to ensure no possible shorting out of the magnets against the baseplate. Follow the instructions in our YouTube video and enjoy your pickup’s new sound …
